Hi all,

I'm a clay shooter that has been asked to look out for a few foxes.

I'm not a bad shot at the clays but have never shot a fox, I don't have an issue with doing so (bloody things are emptying hen houses around here) but if I have to shoot one I want to do it humanely.

Could anyboy tell me (assuming a well placed shot) what is a clean kill distance with a 12 bore?

Thanks,

Mick.

40 yards, 36 gram BB's, get him side on as the ribs offer little to no protection. Don't shoot at him if his tail is what you're looking at and he's heading away.
