Lamped another farm last night for the 1st time this season under the full moon .

 

Most of the fields are still a bit long but I managed to shoot 1 cub seeing 5 in total , a combination of the wind in the wrong direction and the long vegetation meant that the others were safe until next time .........

 

Season is going well seeing cubs on every piece of ground weve lamped so far , but Ive shot no adults at all , they are keeping themselves well concealed but Im sure they will meet thier fate eventually

Seems to be the same trend here FH ive shot 13 and my mate has shot 6 so far this year and I would say there were only about 4 adult foxes out of that and 2 of them were before the cubs started showing.Well done anyway mate

Looks a fair size anyway, take it was a dog fox? What calibre are you using?

Hi Dave , I normally use my .243 but last night I was using my .22/250.

 

I love that calibre , I dusted it off out the cabinet last week and its had a few victims this week .

Do you reload your own ammo for the 22-250?

No mate , I use Federal 55 grain.
