CarraghsGem 92
a neighbour of ours has a litter of ikc reg whippets, sooty sam + laguna feature in the pedigree, microchipped, vacc etc, she only has 2 pups left, 2 bitches, im interested in one of them, she doesnt work her bitch but it apparantly came from top racing parents! the sire to the litter is apparently a racing whippet, what should i look for in this pup (for whippet racing + showing + maybe working) she wants 200 for the pup, lowest i could get her to do it for, is this a fair price? fresh earth 47
Personaly for a working dog i would pick the most forward pup and more lively make sure they have a nice strong stance. im just going to upload an update of my pups from last year 3 of them are beating the fastest dog on there track at 11 months old and there sire is a show dog if reared correctly any whippet should take rabbits and chase well enough for a bit fun with a lure. regards Quote Link to post
gnipper 6,878
If the pedigree is mainly laguna and sooty sam breeding then I doubt its top racing bred, they tend to be heavier dogs than the racers from what i've seen. If you like the pup then go for it, the sellers obviously not trying to fill your head with tales of their hunting prowess so the pup will be whatever you make it. Quote Link to post
