Guest samstheman
Perfectly normal, but like Buddy says, far too young to breed. A good 12 months before she is mature enough physically and, more importantly, psychologically, to become a mum.Good luck with her! Quote Link to post
the fezz 44
cheers all , i wont be breeding of her for a couple of seasons yet, cheers fezz Quote Link to post
MickC 1,825
Im not nocking your pup but I would not breed off her till shes got a few seasons of work behind her.I dont breed off my own dogs until they have proved themselves. Quote Link to post
Tina 1
do terriers mature faster than other dogs then? I would NEVER breed from a dog until at LEAST 2 years old, and I would never breed a dog more than once a year or better still longer than that, let them be pups and mature, and I wouldn't dream of breeding the same bitch every 6 months sorry if this sounds harsh but it's my personnel opinion on this subject. socks 32,253
smaller breeds do mature faster than large breeds .......... Quote Link to post

Tina 1
smaller breeds do mature faster than large breeds .......... ok Thanks for that, but I still think only 1 year old is too young to breed, maybe 18 months is better for smaller breeds. Quote Link to post
Stabs 2
How old a dog is or isn't is the not the criteria to breed. A dog should be bred if it is good enough at it's work and this cannot be determined if it's 6 month old, or 18 month old. Quote Link to post
