rushty 1
Hi Folks , I have had my gun about a year now and was wondering what sort of general maintenence i I should be doing. Thanks in anticipation, Ted Quote Link to post
Phantom 631
Hi again Ted, Simple answer is not much really. Some people clean the barrel every few thousand pellets or so with a pull through it bit of tissue on fishing line (thats as much as I have done) Generally its just a quick wipedown with an oily rag or one with a touch of WD40 on it. what rifle do you use bud? Sweeney-Todd 208
Hi Rushty. As tony says, not a lot to do realy. Although I like to pull my barrels through after every 1000 pellets with white spirit, then with clean patches untill dry, put 20/30 or so pellets through to re lead the barrel before re zeroing. Pull through from breach to muzzle. Bill. Quote Link to post

rushty 1
Thanks again guys. My gun is weirhauch 100, Phantom, Nice gun and quite heavy but really well ballanced. I have a yukon sentinel NV fitted to it , which I sold all my fishing gear to buy. It has a lovely walnut body and I treat it regularly and it just dawned on me that the mechanism is probably much more important and I should be doing something about it so thanks again guys. Phantom 631
Ahh another Darkside member Both Cuz Bill an Stealthy both have the HW100 (as do a hell of a lot of other guy's on here) I had actually heard that the trigger mech was quite exposed on the 100, but when I quearied it with Stealthy, he told me that he had never had any bother with it and he's out all year round more or less and of course with its German Pedigree its designed to last a lifetime and then some Only shot the 100 a couple of times I was very impressed Phantom Quote Link to post

Does that mean that the AA users are the light side? Or just the plain old RIGHTSIDE ofn the force Phantom You'll have to be faster than that mate Your right, I've had this gun for 3 years now, never stripped it down, I wipe it down with the same oily rag that I keep in a sandwich bag under the sink before I put it away, and I have never had a single niggle about the gun at all, absolutely perfect Quote Link to post
rushty 1
Phantom I dont know what you mean by trigger mech but , and am probs gonna show my ignorance here, I have noticed that when i go for a shot and the safety was left on , that when i remove the safety the trigger seems some times to be like a hair trigger , its probly me to be honest. I did have a AA 410 and loved it very much and am gonna save to get another one day and use that as my day gun. Quote Link to post
Phantom 631
I'd heard that the trigger mechanism (sp?) was a bit exposed so that grit and dirt could get in and cause problems when it came to firing. But I think that was from someone who; like a bad workman; blamed his tools as an excuse for not being any good as a Marksman. Phantom Quote Link to post
