It wasnt to be......

Hi all.

 

Had a drive over to the new permission again today.

Pulled up at the Barn, opened the gate and drove into the field, shut the gate, then carried on over the fields to where I wanted to be.

 

Wanted to have another go at the Pigeons in the sitee tree, but this time, I went the other side of the tree.

 

Found a nice position that I lazed at 36yds from the tree.

Nice small bank giving good cover, and a nice clump of bushes too.

Put up the see through screen, and draped the rifle with a bit of camo.

 

Shoot position.

 

 

 

 

Settled down to wait, bit of a breeze blowing, and a little overcast too.

Looking beyond the sitee tree through the scope, I saw THREE Buzzards in the next field, one on the ground and two squabling over a perch in a dead tree, lovely to see and watch, all three were young'uns.

 

Saw a good few Pigeons flying about.......but would they come my way.....NO !!

I had now been in this position for three hours, with nothing to show, so decided to break cover, and have a mooch.

Looking back from sitee tree.

 

 

 

Although I came away empty handed this time, it was good to see a bit more of the ground, and the Buzzards made my day.

 

Look out NEXT time Pigeons.....I hope

Look's like we will both go hungry mate

 

Decoys are next on the list, got some UV paint, just need the deeks now

Was looking at the cost of the lofting poles and branches bloomin expensive for what they are

So I may have a look in Millets tomorow, and get some glass fibre tent poles, about £10 I think, bit of cammo tape on them, should work a treat, just need to fashion a branch then, to sit the deeks on.

 

Our time will come mate.......and the Pigeons
