ratattack 111
I believe it was nearer a third rather than half of the dogs brought to them. They PTS because they had behaviour problems which could make them unsuitable to rehome. I certainly don't agree with it but if people wern't breeding dogs left right and centre then there wouldn't be so many going to the dog pound in the first place! People need to be more responsible when breeding but you try telling the local chav with an eye on some easy cash to be sensible.

Guest Buttermilk
I go into Battersea relatively regularly and the amount of Pit/Staff crosses in there is unbelievable. It's very sad, because alot of these poor dogs have been bred indesciminately and just churned out.

It's very sad, because alot of these poor dogs have been bred indesciminately and just churned out. if you go regularly you will know that the amount of dogs kept there is far greater than the one's shown, the dogs shown were mostly staff, i believe the number of dogs kept at any one time can be in excess of 350 , the rspca THE ROYAL SOCIETY FOR THE PROTECTION OF ANIMALS NOT DESTRUCTION DO NOT DEFEND THIS GANG OF SHYSTERS , dog breeding has all ways gone on the use of staffy breeds as a fashion accessory by young lads is a problem , so it is now the policy of the rspca that every staffy and bull x type has a behavior problem not the media being led to the cages with the scape goat breeds in them thus giving the rspca a valid reason to pts any of this type , clever little bit of pr once again ;)DONT BE SHY GUESTS JOIN Edited August 2, 2010 by gonetoearth
