Hi i am looking to purchase a 22 rimfire i was looking in my local gunshop today and they had a secondhand Mouser 2D1 .22 for sale. It was in very good condition but they were unable to tell me anything about it other than it was about 10 years old. Is there anyone on here had one of these rifles? It has a bolt action.

I wasn't being nasty. It was a serious question!

I can't find a reference to a Mauser with that prefix, but can't find a reference to "Mouser" and guns, so I'm a little confused.

Any other markings on the rifle?

Hi you may well be right but it was definitely Mouser 2D1 wrote on the ticket hanging from the trigger guard. It was being sold as a complete package 3-9x40 scope,3 mags and a gun slip. They were asking £475 for it but i cant find any reference to it anywhere.

If you can't find anything out about it then that would speak volumes about getting spare parts etc so go for something that is well known .... maybe the gundealer is trying to punt this gun out to a newbie just so he can get rid !

There are some complete deals on new cz rifles for 499 in the sporting rifle. I would go that route

Yes i'm sure your right, I think i will go for a new one I did look at the CZ American and also the Weihrauch HW60.

Cheers for your help.

Did it look anything like the rifle on this page?

Mauser 201

If so then there's all the info you need really. The 201 is a great little rifle, with loads of features!

Yes mate thats the one without a doubt. I do like the rifle but still wonder if i wouldn't be better off getting a new CZ American.

Thanks for finding it :)
