riggers 2
went on to my permission at 1850, nd parkedthe car up.Ppped my sighn in the window to say whos car it was and started to glass the area, nothing moving so i walked round the corner glassing every new bit as it came into view.moved up the banking and glassed again and then i saw her my friendly doe,she was a good 150yards away so i got into a sitting position and watched her for a while.to see if a buck was with her sat for half an hour watching her till she disapered into some willow. i then from whear i was glassed all round and then saw another doe a good 200 250 yards away, and then i noticed her look back i first though she might have a kid but no she had a buck with her,not a massive head but a nice 4 pointer so the stalk was on as soon as i moved off my back side he stopped and looked at me bugger so i froze he then decided to lie down and watch me even more of a bugger as i was on a slope in full view so i dropped back onto my backside and watched him every time he looked away i would slide a wee bit down the slope on my bum then glass againand sure enough he was watching me the doe at this point had went to ground also wind in my face lovelly night and i an sliding down a slope on my ass oh the joys heart pumping full of adrenalin ok so i had eventually made it off the slope and was now in some long grass rutty as hell full of pot holes so i was on my knees and clossing the gap i thought if i can half it to say 150 yards then i am good to take an accurate shot so i finnally got into a sitting position again with my sticks up and then he dropped his head great all i could see was the top of his antlers so i though whistle so i did gradually getting louder not a flinch so i barked at him nothing the wee sod i thought so i sat in the grass sweating like a pig for 45 mins then he popped his head up neck him i thought na too much grass in the road i will wait another half hour passed then the doe gets up and wals off 5 mins later he gets up beed on down he goes heart lung him. chuffed to bits one of my best stalkes yet after i got him back i weighed him and he was 39lbs with out his head nice will try and get the pics off my phone and i will post them. Yokel Matt 918
Fantastic - your patience paid off for sure. Hard ground, potholes - horseflies too no doubt and a nice buck cleanly shot... what dreams are made off Quote Link to post
