lightforce lamp for my rapid

Recommended Posts

Once they are on, you can increase the voltage until it gets very bright and hot then they either melt or as they often did just crack open and fail.

One of our favourite tricks was to stick a 12 volt capacitor 100uf into the 240V rails. They sound like a shotgun and it snows but a bit whiffy though, sorta like fish

But can you decrease voltage to dim them?

I remember a lad in my electronics class at school put a 12v dc. LED in a 240v plug socket, that sounded like a shotgun too and lit the room blue with a flash lol.

Its more to do with current than voltage

Vary the current with a resistor and you can vary the amount of light from the led

It was you mentioning voltage that threw me lol.

I know about regulating current for lamps with variable resistors etc but like I said I didnt know you could do the same with LED's.
