can anyone tell me from experince what they find the best. the top entry larson or the side entry multy catch?? for magpie's.. i am usind a top entry myself with only fair results.

cheer's pat

top entry for maggies and side entry for crows, but if only a top for crows put it on a 45 gallon drum to stop them walking around the trap

Ive also found top entry the best all-round. And if trapping crows in the past ive sat the trap on a square bale with good success, I also use eggs as bait and always crack one on top of the trap. Placing the trap next to a fence or small tree will also help get them on top.

But I forget about using the larsen for the corvids once it has captured the breeding pairs on the land, (usually april for me) Any that are left(or that turn up after) are quicker killed using other methods, as they are not territorial enough to be tempted into the larsen.
