matt_hooks 188
I am a bit worried about midges in august. Yeah, the midges can be a royal pain. There's a story about the Rum midges actually killing a man! Canna shouldn't be too bad though, as it's flat and fairly windy. We used to half joke about the Rum midges that they were a separate species, some wierd cross breeding, half midge and half white tailed sea eagle. Have to watch out or them, they have learnt on Rum to follow people with guns, as they often get a free feed from the gralloch! Reckon Sanday is probably better for shooting bunnies, that slope down by the school looks like a favourite! If I have the money I might well be up there soon, have a word with the other MacKinnon (whose name completely escapes me, the farm manager) and see about whacking some bunnies. Have to take the .243 up too though, can't go up and not shoot a hind or two on Rum If you get a chance, take a trip over to Rum. Have a look round the castle, it's mental! If you hang around the village in the early afternoon you'll probably see the ponies coming down off the hill with deer on them. If you do, ask for Neil, and tell him Matt says he's a lazy wee shite! stealthy1 3,964
at the mo i just lie under a small walnut tree and pick them off. Sweet Can you cut me a couple of chunks off that old Walnut?, I quite fancy having a go at making my own stock for my baby Stealthy: If you think they are comming out a fair old way, you should see how far they come out on the new permission I'm chasing, When I go home from the paddock or the cemy, I cut through a field next to the cricket club, I was telling Davy about this place, As I enter and walk along the footpath, the ground just lifts up in waves of grey and brown and they run in stages, but in unison best way to describe it is as a Mexican Wave and the sheer numbers are astronomical, If I get chance tomorrow evening to shoot, I'll take the video so you can see the entire field RUN towards those embankments where they like to tease me from. Its a truely awsome site to see and best thing is, the green keeper at the cricket club, told me who I need to speak to and why the guy has not planted anything this year! He lost over % of his crop last year to the bunnies, they need sorting BIG TIME Sorry Fry for the Hijack Phantom Have you done the vid yet mate Quote Link to post
