border lad 1,047
for me, without a doubt, collie, saluki, mix, brain, stamina, and speed, and of course the greyhound has to be in that mix, I was a strong advocate of the collie greyhound, bred from a (( working hill collie, with a champion, coursing greyhound on top, but now those special dogs have disappeared, due to the change in Law, I have a new dog of the collie grey/with Saluki, in the mix, (( this is my first, of this breed, and I can, see the special running character, they posses, too much Saluki, and you have problems, ((( fantastic for the Fens, but for small land, ((( you have problems, they are very independent, and not to biddable, ((( my Ideal breeding would be 3/4 greyhound 1/4 collie Bitch, with a first cross Saluki greyhound dog on top, and you pick your choice out of that type of breeding, for a complete all round dog, to take ALL EDIBLE, game, (((( but they are not for NOVICE HANDLERS, Quote Link to post
big marty 41
i keep a 1/4 collie 3/4 greyhound and a first x collie greyound, i also had a 5/8 greyhound 3/8 collie, if you are wanting to stay with the collie mix then in my opinion the 5/8 3/8 has a bit more speed than a first x and more stamina than a 3/4 bred..but this is just my opinion...atb with what you choose mate heres my 3/4 greyhound 1/4 collie bitch mate...
