Yes they can, my JRT's head used to swell up like a bull terrier if he got stung by a wasp, would get huge lumps appear under his fur all over his body . . . . . . he's thankfully grown out of it now. Its always good to keep an anti hystermiene (sp) in the cupboard/car for stings, i used to use piriton tablets, but since my border bitch got stung in the throat i now use a childs liquid version . . . the absorption process is much quicker and in her case it saved her life. Attack Fell Terrier 864 Posted June 27, 2010 Report Share Posted June 27, 2010 A Patterdale I had tried to dig up a bee's nest and got stung all over, he come out of the bushes covered in bee's grunting like a pig. He started to vomit up loads of green shit then collapsed, I thought the little b*stard was gonna die there and then, but by the time I got him to the vets he was back on his feet although he was still a little groggy. Anyway i mentioned it to my vet and he gave me prednisolone, its a cortisteroid and works a treat, its cheap about £2.50 for 50 tablets oh yeah its anti-inflamatory aswell i always take some in my first aid kit now. atb A.R.D Quote Link to post Share on other sites
