dafydd thomas 13
weve got a huntaway x collie which is about 15 months, never known a fitter dog he can run all day but completely aloof and completely independant!
nevi73 0
i had a border terrier that would drive sheep but not round them up like a sheepdog.
Born Hunter 17,909
Theres a part of me that would love to live the life of a livestock farmer just to work proper farm collies. Something really appealing seeing hardy collie types with their master all day long working various different stock. However the sheep herding trials ya see on tv now and again and at the odd show really doesnt appeal personally.
Neal 1,929
I know of a racing whippet breeder who trained one of her whippets to do a half hearted attempt at rounding up the sheep. Apparently it worked by her calling out the names of other people in the field or objects (tree, gate etc) and it would move towards them rather than using traditional "come bye" etc.
