Chid 6,744
get a mentor .. as there is stuff what is quite hard to do. im sure some one on here will guide you better than i can as i only started learning this last season.. a harris hawk would probably be the easiest .. all your stuff you can get from ian vance falconry supplies .. wants you get the basics a harris is simple to keep on weight and easy to work with .. poacher3161 1,766
Try joining a club.I used to ferret for lads flying hawks and was more than happy just to watch their birds fly wat with keeping lurchers and springers and holding down a full time job to then start keeping B.O.P i realised i would not be able to give one or the other 100pct commitment wich any hunting livestock truely deserves.atb dell Quote Link to post

I would say a harris or a red i dont think if you learn the basics a harris would be easy to get the weight right its all about learnig from someone who has the experience and can teach you weight contol and about falconry. i wish you luck im sure their are plenty of austringers close by who would be more that happy for u to accompany them.learn for a season then take the plunge. Also thier are lots of books to get stuck into ie falconry for beginners by lee william harris .
