JonathanL 4
If you are anywhere near the north east I can get you a 4 gun cabinet for £60. New is about £110, I think. J. Quote Link to post
SNAP SHOT 194
just get an extra deep one for scoped rifles just in case you want to go down that route later on.... buy once and make do... and yes it has to be to BS 7558 i think it is of the top of my head... infac also do a good range of safes and are stronger than some i have seen and bought... a top drawer comes in handy for ammo and bits and pieces.. liftboy1 0
I bought a buffalo river 3 gun cabinet last week for £100 and the police said it was fine. I think that aslong as you have a bs no of certification on it and bolted to the wall correctly you should be fine. Quote Link to post
matt_hooks 188
Common misconception, they don't have to adhere to any particular standard, the law just states "of a similar standard of security". The BS just makes it difficult for the police to argue as to the security level. A decent 4 gun BS safe shouldn't set you back much more than £100, sometimes less. It starts to get expensive when you look for FAC safes as they need a separately lockable section for ammunition, though this is a good idea for sg cartridges it's not a requirement! herdwick 52
Different FAO's have different requirements. 5 years ago, when i renewed fa/sg certificates was told by the then new fao that the cabinet, which had passed muster for 20 years was not up to standard. Had to buy a new 9 gun cupboard with locking top for ammo. Renewed again in april of this year. New fao passed new cupboard but i asked him to look at the old one while he was there. If he had been fao 5 years ago i wouldnt have had to buy the new one as he said the old one was perfectly ok Quote Link to post
