read 3 books by this man and not enjoyed any of them!!! ive just finished his book on gary middletons strain and cant believe it when he says gary used the welsh terrier to improve the black and tan colour in the strain :icon_eek: :icon_eek:

fair enough gd waz. ive read the traditional working terrier, the patterdale terrier and middletons one and can honestly say the were the most boring books ive ever read about dogs but thats just my opinion

oops didnt no that!!! not a dig at him tho i dont no the man personally i just dont like the books ive read by him thats all and if you cant accept criticism then you shouldnt put books out on the open market

I think its all a matter of taste. Stewie, you obviously are challenged in this department.

 

Im glad im not alone in thinking Mr.Frain is probably the best modern day experts on fieldsports, and for him to enrich us all with his knowledge is very generous of him.

 

Time for all the Frain fans to stand up and be counted. :notworthy:

have to agree with you mate i just read the patterdale terrier and it bores me to tears he keeps sayin the same thing in every chapter imo

some books are worth reading because they are wrote/compiled by lads that work dogs so you might pick up a few tips.......harcombe, P.Lloyd,darcy.

 

then theres the books that are full of nonsense and mad drawings but ones that must be read for the entertainment value........frain,bezzant,plummer. :clapper::clapper::clapper:

compared to d harcombe bert gripton not a patch on these guys and a few others,there very few good book writers now , no depth or hard expierence ,maybe if the ban gets lifted and afew real hunting guys etc put pen to paper it would be intresting , read one frain book very poor
