big perch

was fishing yesterday on a new pond i found. i was told there's carp up to 16 LBS and plus good tench and a 40 lb cat i was float fishing ham and prawns got 3 small tench and a big perch i was well happy with it so will be going back to fish for them again it only a small pond so i might catch the same perch again or hopefully a bigger if anyone can suggest rigs and tactics i would be grateful

Have a look at this months improve your coarse fishing magazine quite a few articles in there about catching big perch. strictly a big carp angler me so im not really the person to ask

take plenty of big worms mate catch perch they only go for things that move dont know how you caught one on ham or prawn atb kk

your prob right mate im not no expert but i didnt think you could catch them on prawn and ham

a guy in our club caught one 4lb 6oz on green swimstim paste. but i wouldnt think they take it regularly. suppose its because they get loads chucked in the commercial waters.

thanks for the tips i will be going this weak end iv got a pack of small sand eels to try as a dead bate will take wormes bread crum and maggots and maybe sum liquid worm attractant and iv used sum red food colouring and sum predator plus on the prawns and this time i will take a cam and i post any piks of fish we catch

I`d go for the big lobworm approach,that,or try bouncing jigs along the bottom near snags and weed beds. Tight lines...
