fieldsportsman 107
hi all, Im a complete novise to ferreting and Im looking at getting a ferret after doing research in books, however I have a very plassed 17 month old lakeland terrier which I would love to use to mark the holes and nets, I just wondred would he accept the ferret? do you think I should inroduce the ferret to him slowly such as stroking the ferret near him. The one 8,605
Try him with a ferret in a hutch that way he cant touch it and you can judge his reaction to it Quote Link to post
kevin from bristol 95
Yes let him see the ferret in the hutch first smell it and that then handle ferret in front of him any snaps at the ferret should be told off straight away this way your dog will see that your protecting the ferret then after some time put the ferret down and let him have a sniff and he should soon get used to him over a short period Edited April 25, 2010 by kevin from bristol Quote Link to post
