My sis came out a couple of times last season and has been harping on at me to get her and her bitch 'Tilly' out this season, "she is really fast and would definately be able to catch rabbits" :hmm:

So tonight we went to my old permission. From the off it was obvious it has been heavily lamped already, bunnies in the distance made for cover as soon as the lamp went on them, and since i think im the only one who works dogs there it must be those nasty poachers again  I was hopeing for some naive rabbits to try her on.

Now my sister is a lovely woman, but suddenly in the darkness walks like a bull elephant...or at least that is what she sounds like  She no longer seems to understand the meaning of "lift your feet" or "quiet please" Her ability to hold a slip lead is also dubious

Trial and error...................

I left sis on one side of a high fence whilst i went over with Khan to run a rabbit id spotted, sis stayed at other side as field had rather large bullocks in and i was only going to run the one. The rabbit ran under the fence, so sis in her wisdom slipped Tilly, Khan nearly landed on her as her jumped the fence still in persuit, she thought she would as it had come into her side of the fence :icon_eek::censored:

Two other times when Khan was running, she managed to let go of the slip

When it was Tilly's turns, she slipped her before Tilly had seen the bunnie so ran straight past

Anyway, Khan managed to catch one without the help of Tilly  The rabbit and Khan both ran into my sisters leg :o revenge :D

The catch....

His habit of retrieving backwards  ...

Sis's habit of accidentally slipping her has actually helped. One field they had a very long run and she ran like a dream, very, very quick little dog, and can turn on a sixpence  Outpaced Khan who is a large dog after turns!

The last field (another accidental slip) The rabbit was running up and down the fence looking for an escape, turned quickly leaving Khan behind, Tilly was like greased lightning and caught it just before it made its escape. It was a brilliant catch :rocker:

My sis has gone home very elated, and im sure all the men at the allotment tomorrow will be hearing tonights tale. Im chuffed to bits for her, and her mongrel who is supposedly from a staffie x dam and unknown sire.

Tilly.......

A cheshire cat sister :D
