niall_b73 41
had a boat hired on a small lake on the border near belleek looking for pike. we bailed out all the water and set up the fishfinder and headed out into the lake. plenty of fish showing up and in very deep water. but fcuk me if the water did'nt start to fill in the boat. it was coming in as quick as i could bale it out so had to come ashore. got a refund and got another water tight boat for lower lough erne. i shall return. so now we were out on lower lough erne (which was very low on water) all day saturday with a mate and we tried everything under the sun and not as much as a bite, tried every lure, spinner everything i had in my box even dead bait but nothing so on sunday i decided to take the family out and try a spot on upper lough erne that has always produced good fish, but when we arrived there upper lough erne was in flood !! W.T.F. could not get near any of the places due to the flood. so ended up on the colebrooke river, the 2 kids float fishing, i had a dead bait out and i was spinning (while the missus got the salad and made the tea on the river bank) not as much as a nibble. so at that i thought fcuk it, if you cant beat them join them so headed back to mullaghmore for a swim off the harbour & very refreshing it was. but i do know i will never be fishing lower lough erne ever again niall_b73 Edited April 12, 2010 by niall_b73 Quote Link to post

niall_b73 41
probably all the fish are in polish peoples freezers valid point tho i have to say having a fishfinder and being on lough erne there were hardly any fish showing up at all. you would think on a big water like that you would be bumping into shoal after shoal but it was not meant to be !! niall_b73 Quote Link to post
