Toka 10
hi, charging my Deben max lamp tonight but i cant remember what the led lights on the charger stand for. there is a red one and a green one. what should it be displaying while charging, and when fully charged.... sorry no idea where the manual is as i have had it for 20+ years...lol [am thinking of getting one of those new lithium deben batteries for £...anyone used one?] dont need anything more powerful as this does for my range of shooting either with an amber/red filter or without... landrover 6
both should be on when first switched on then red will go out when fully charged Quote Link to post

20alex09 0
My charger started to do this so I bought a new battery thinking it was that not taking a charge. It turned out its a fault with the charger, it still charges batteries but the both lights are always on. You can normally see the green light starting to dim after a few hours I left mine on for 9 hours but both lights were still on, still charged the battery though. Quote Link to post
jamie g 17
depends on battry size and how much you have used it night before. the 12 volt 20 amp one i have if used most the night takes a full day to charge allmost Quote Link to post

ATB OK, it has got to be me then, is this the first time you have charged it in 20 years!!!!?????? What has happened to the lights previously and how long did it take to charge then?? Have you never noticed both bulbs going on, one slowly fading and just leaving one on when it is meant to be charged...NOT IN 20 Years of charging Edited March 25, 2010 by Deker Quote Link to post
Toka 10
lol..to be honest i used to usually plug it in in the morning and switch it off before going out....it hasnt let me down yet and its only recently i got back into more lamping and the other day the wife spotted it charging and saw the light didnt change...hence the question. when i first plug it in both lights are on than the green one fades out leaving the red one on....i thought from memory once it was fully charged the red went out and the green lit up again?? but now i have been made aware it never moves off red once it has started to change. somewhere i remember that the green comes on initially as it is lit by the charge in the battery [?] but it goes out once the charge from the mains starts to flow into it? very simplistic sorry... as long as it still works!! Decker, do you have a lithium battery? do you rate it if so? ATB Quote Link to post

ATB The green goes out when it is charged, the red stays on all the time it is working I still use heavy chunks of battery, a couple of pals are toying with the idea of these new light weight things but nobody I know actually has any yet, so no first hand experience to make any comment from yet!
