I've got a small stretch of river on my permission - but - it has all the typical mink prey on it, i'm thinking of going down and having a look, has anyone any experiances of shooting mink?

Way back in the mid 80's some do-gooding f***ing w****rs released a farm full of minks a few miles up river from the estate where I worked. The minks then proceeded to kill pretty much all the riverside wildlife for miles around. Nice to see the tossers had thought it through before they let them lose.....

They are plenty killable with an airgun but please, be VERY careful with them. As Aaron's said, they don't stay still for long, so getting a good shot can be tricky and if you do get a hit, shoot it again. They are very tough and very aggressive.

Cheers and good luck!

I personally have very little experience in even identifying them so If I came accross one I wouldnt shoot till' I had checked it out. I like seeing a variety of wildlife about, hence why I wouldnt enjoy shooting a stag in Engalnd for example when its such a rare sight (in some places).

Will have a little look online just incase I ever cross one ;)
