Hannah4181 260
Nice shots kay, did you use a "sharpen tool" on the images?? Maybe its just me but they look a little over cooked! If i'm right,i would sharpen to half what you have currently been using. If you look at the images you can see thousands of tiny white marks, caused by over sharpening it almost creates the same effect as adding noise. I much prefer the composition of these shots to your previous deer ones, the trees and branches framing the image improve them massively.

Photo editing is a mine field!! I try my hardest to achieve all i want from an image by using the camera . . . . . obviously editing has its advantages and i do use it a lot, but only to "tweek", it is so easy to wreck a decent image in the shop! happyploughman 1
yes have had to undo some images as I have added and added and in the end they look like a cartoon image, trying to rectify mistakes made at the time when photo taken. Must try harder to get better quality photos in the first place. But good fun learning though.

And that is the beauty of digital photography, you can learn by your mistakes and just go back to where you started! I remember spending 2 days in a dark room trying to get an image perfect!! However much i love digital photography and commercially in a business sense it is the only viable option now, but my first love is the darkroom and i could happily lose days in there! MuttleMcTuttle 21
They are lovely shots Kay, nicely composed and good colour. I agree with Hannah though, they do look rather over-sharpened. If you aren't applying any with the software it may be that the camera's sharpening setting is too high. I always have any sharpening turned off on my camera and only apply sharpening in Photoshop at the very end of the processing depending on whether the pic is destined for the web or print.
