Should I work my patts on rats

Hi guys, just wondered if I should get a bit of ratting for my patts, the dog is about 18mth (nuttall lines) and bitch about 11mth. They are brill on rabbits the dog is an awesome marking dog, never wrong. The black bitch is a bit of a digger and fearless, still a bit flighty always running off looking for some action. Not had them on any charlies either, they dont seem to survive long around here, keepers sort them lamping.

If anyone got some ratting close by, I wouldn't mind tagging along some time, can return the favour rabbiting next season, just stopped now due to young uns.

iv my pat x pit on rats 7m old builds them up to bigger quarry

 

soon as thy get there second set of full teeth stick them on them

i say every year im gonna do some ratting but never get round to it, it looks a good craic.

Yes sure does, I know they would be well up for it, they are always catching rabbits but rip them to shreds.

Suppose they need it really, thats what they are bred for. Just need to get them on some to let them get the taste of it.

Theres nothing like moving a bale or a shovelfull of dirt, and rats and terriers flying in all directions, get it done your two shouldnt have any trouble picking it up, wait till they get bitten, there'll be no stopping them.
