jasper65 6
Thought I would take a Mooch over to the Rhodendrums later this afternoon for a break. it was a cracking spot with Trees all around covered in Ivy with a nice clearing in the middle of the Rhodies, it wasn't long before the first Pigeon came in but was masked by plenty of twigs!! Minutes later a good flock dropped in all around me, one infront of presented a cracking pictures through the scope and was hit under the wing and dropped, Unfortunatley this scared all the others.... through out the couple of hours I was there a good few kept coming in and I ended up with four!! if I took the shotty I would have been into double figures bigtime. finally walking back I watched a squirrel running up high into a beach tree so I made my way over, for a minute or two I lost him but after scanning the branches with the scope there he was peering over a knuckle looking at me, this was the best shot of the day as he was hit straight under the chin and through the back of his head... the gun seems to love these Field Target Trophy Pellets but they seem pretty soft to me and bend while you look at them, the good thing is they shoot where I'm aiming which is good enough for me...... All the best Jack It shocked me to be Honest Jack! he decided to hang upside down for a second or two before doing a Olympic Dive to the floor, the Pellet hit him just to one side of his chin and exited the top back of his head... I have hit them in the past at some distance with these FTT and the pellet has gone through the rib cage and stopped under the skin on the oposite side, I like the pellets but fancy like trying a few others out in the near future ....... cheers Jasper Quote Link to post
JackReid 35
ahahah Well They're strong for their size and like a rabbit has its last click I think the grab onto the tree and just hook on. I've shot one just behind the eye, perfect temple shot and its done the same, it hung by 1 arm upside down as if still alive although the lights were totally off, so a second shot in the head pushed it off. ferretville 69
Nice shooting jasper . Decent pellet with good grouping i found but not as hard hitting as other pellets. Im using accupels in me AAs410 and they`ve got a good smack these are in .177. but think i might run sum bisley mags through it. The HW100 in .22 luvs defiants and by christ they don`t half do the biz. Have you not tried any of the daystate pellets . Me mate has a daystate x2 and a mk4 and his luv the daystate pellets bit pricey but good pellet. What caliber do you shoot jasper ? FV Quote Link to post

I tried the Daystate Select pellet and you're right they do the business but what gets me is I end up paying the same price for 400 as I would for say 500 Bisely Mags, I then tried to find a cheaper alternative. I have tried AA's and JSB's and don't get me wrong they was a nice pellet but a few flyers put me off, the Bisley Mags steadied the ship but a little bit heavy for my liking although they do hit the Mark where I'm zeroed. Defiant is another Pellet you just mentioned I like the sound of but the one's I was looking at was around 7.9 Grains so I took it they may be a bit light.... I had some Daystate Heavies a guy kindly sent me and they just the the Bisleys was spot on, I think I just have a fetish about pellets at the moment and need to stop poncing about and stick to the one brand , Mind you I'll have to try the accupells and FX pellets first.... cheers Jasper Quote Link to post

My AAs410 is`nt fussy to be honest on pellets but it does like a heavier pellet. Have`nt had many different pellets through the HW100 so think i will have a bit test . To be honest once i find a pellet that works well itend to stick to them. The 410 even got on well with the AAs pellets but i do like the accupels . How do you find the air ranger then a lad i know found the front end a bit top heavy just did`nt seem to balance for him. I do like the daystates a gun you don`t seem to here much going wrong with them . Allwaysliked the look of the huntsmen . Think that and the z2 are pretty much the same gun . Enjoy your pellet testing jasper Quote Link to post
jasper65 6
Top blatting tony.... Nice one pal ! the lads on here think I'm shooting out to 40 yds mate. Them pigeons was shot freehand at 500 Yds plus Ian . Heard from M the other evening and he told me you're not taking many prisoners with that HMR of yours.......... Enjoy your pellet testing jasper Yep you'r pal is righ mate!! its a fair lump to cart about, it weighs around 10LB'ish with the 30mm scope fitted and feels pretty heavy shooting freehand, the gun itself shoots where you aim it!! from a rest it will group very tight at around 35 - 40yds, then again I think most pre-charge will. shooting up into the canopy at scquirrels and pigeons can be awkward though pal with all the weight on your forarm, but I'm now getting used to the holdover on this rifle at different ranges and seldom shoot ground quarry, the good thing is I can Gurantee at least 250 shots on a charge which saves alot of filling all the time ..... ferretville 69
Static shooting off the bi-pod might be more comfy jasper . The r10 are a nice balanced gun but never fired 1. Looking forward to the better weather to get out with the guns again summer shooting sounds good . I like my 410 for its weight just right . The HW is gonna get a good outing this year atb FV Quote Link to post
