No seriously I don't think whales should be in captivity anyway, so there you go Ms Yanky Fish Teaser. Edited February 24, 2010 by leegreen
Dakaras 3
You broke the news to THL 6 mins before Reuters broke it to world AFX UK Focus) 2010-02-24 22:19 Whale kills trainer at Florida SeaWorld park Article layout: raw MIAMI, Feb 24 (Reuters) - A killer whale at the SeaWorld amusement park in central Florida killed a trainer on Wednesday, a rescue official said. He said the trainer, a woman of about 40, slipped and fell into the tank. The trainer, one the park's most experienced, drowned, he said. He added the trainer was dead when rescue officials arrived and that the death was being treated as accidental. He gave no further details. Media reports said the orca at the park's Shamu Stadium grabbed the woman by the waist, thrashed her about and took her underwater. The trainer was killed just before the start of a public performance, the Orlando Sentinel newspaper said on its website. It quoted a spectator as saying the whale came up from the water and grabbed the trainer by her waist and "was thrashing her around pretty good." The Florida park is owned by the Blackstone Group, a private equity company that also owns part of the Universal Orlando theme park. A spokesman for SeaWorld in San Diego said killer whale shows have been suspended following the death in Orlando.
