MR TEA POT 1,287
Had bodgerbear up to learn a bit about ferreting,so when he landed it was slinging it down with snow and getting heavier by the minate,so we set off you could hardly see the road because of the snow, got to the main road and as luck would have it a gritting lorry drove past so it made the drive a bit easier, then we pulled off to the country roads and these were bad, quite deeep in parts. So we got to the field and it was still snowing heavy so we had a quick cup of tea and set off, first sett we put nets down there was no sign of any rabbits at all, ferrets in and waited about half an hour later out came the locator,3 ft dig coming up ground was solid, broke through only to find a tree root right in the way managed to get the rabbit.I said to bodgerbear we will go to another hedge as the setts are a bit easier,as we walked round the corner there on the hill was about 20 people sledging :censored:they where coming down the hill and stopping on the setts we was going to do, i thought thats knackered that plan up .So we went down to the bottom hedge with a few little setts in netted all the way along and set up the stop nets,1 rabbit bolted ran the length of the hedge and got caught in the stop net, bodgerbear was impressed,he had never seen them before. We was getting soaked by this time so we did one more sett and called it a day.We manged 2 from this sett and then headed home.Just like to say thanks to bodgerbear for a nice day and good company, next time you come don't bring the snow .i took one pic as it was too cold to take me gloves of,bodgerbear took some so he will put them up later. BODGERBEAR netting up the last sett of the day,it does not look like there was much snow BUT by dinner time the sun was out and it was melting Quote Link to post

Guest bodgerbear
Well I have finally woken up so I thought Id post some more pics up of the day. As you can see it snowed a little bit but still had a good crack. Next pic is of the first dig (Need to work on my spade technique) lol, and the last pic of the day with 4 bunnies (really good as 3 bunnies is my PB). Had a fantastic teacher, and learnt loads but still long way to go. Think I have worked out where I was going wrong NO TEA, I have always drunk coffee, and was breathing through my arse towards the end, so I think I will have to give it a go. Big thank you to Mr Tea Pot had a great day. ATB Bodgerbear P.S Mr Tea Pot SORRY Quote Link to post
