uru 341
These are of my dog "Ike" cleaning out a barn from some coons. This is one of a few coons that day that he took care of."Ike" is 8 yrs old,but will work any vermin. He tore the ear off a feral hog,but the pictures along with a few of one of my Olde Boston Bulldogs working them, didn't turn out."Ike" is 3/4 Old Nuttall,1/4 pit.He is 16-17lbs.He is also obedience trained and trained bitework. uru I have his double bred daughter that is a little bigger, but has a super mouth and this family has a great nose too.If there is a fault(and it's not to me) he is stone cold mute.He won't make a sound, and his daughter is the same Quote Link to post

steveS.Yorks 161
By the looks of it the dog has a hold on the coons belly, letting the coon punish him at will,i would have thought an 8 yr old dog would have learned to take a head/neck hold? Quote Link to post
jamie2004live 163
he looks like he can take care of himself. would say tyhe muteness almost certainly coming from the pit, after all thats why the bull is used to put the fire in to them Quote Link to post

uru 341
Thanks again folks.I'm not saying he's the best,or has the best technique, just that he's solid, will find & not afraid to engage and stay if it gets tough, plus I like him craig Quote Link to post
waidmann 105
i have always found that raccoon "stand up and invite the dog" to take the belly( some form of strategy??) every coon the dogs have had in the open did this.they then "grab on" as you can see in the picture above and try to bite the dogs in the back of the neck. as my dogs seldom were alone( either with other dogs or me and a knife ) i never saw the outcome of a very prolonged "battle". a handy looking dog there in top condition Quote Link to post
decoy 5
I heard alot of "Ike" and it likes to be a great dog! I know the breeder of this dog and he breeds top dogs!! All the best with "Ike" !! Gr. Decoy Quote Link to post

If youre happy with him mate thats all that matters and i know nothing about coon hunting. Quote Link to post
