diabetic?

Recommended Posts

as the chap says he has had low sugar "TWO YEARS AGO".and has a driving licence( check every 4 years i believe).

i can vouch for the lad being fit as a fiddle( he may collapse after a days beating when he is home, but who doesn't?).

any joy with the feo or doctor today bud??

Does not alter the fact that the OP's doctor has provided a medical report to his forces Chief Medical Officer which has resulted in the CMO reporting his concerns to the Firearms licensing Manager.

For this very reason I suggested the OP had a word with both his GP and his Firearms Licensing Manager to see if there was a way forward.

Remember that it is his own GP's medical report that is the cause of the refusal to grant. God forbid that, if requested, the GP furnish a similar report to the DVLA.

I,ve got to see my GP, can't see him untill next week, after that it will be the diabetic consultant, then it will be a call to my fao to explain everything is ok and he can check with my doctor, as i've said before i,ve been fine for years, I did have a few incidents but that was a while ago, it's always been well controlled, i'm a plumber by trade so if I lost my driving license it would be game over, thats why i've had to keep such a close eye on it,

thanks for replies, i'll keep you posted, atb slipper

Very interesting post. I just wanted to ask some question about diabetes and FAC when spotted this post. I applied for coterminous grant and police is still deceiding (after 20 weeks...) what to do with my application. I am type 1 and found out only about a couple of months ago. Sugar levels are well under control and I never had any problems. I have had hypos, but I do not go unconscious etc just start shievering, sweating and so on. I know when have low sugar levels and can deal with it. I always have the same symptoms. They consulted my GP and DVLA. DVLA requested 3-years driver license renewal, that is what they always do if someone's on insulin. Not sure about the outcome... Will see...
