ANYONE EVER BEEN BLOODED

You get the brush, the cut off tail of the fox, wiped across your face. It's a very old custom, and it's also one of the aspects of riding to hounds that the antis played on. DON'T lick your lips!

our pack still does it for people who ask.we have to use false blood from a pretend charlie because we only hunt a pre laid trail though.we then give them a ginger fluffy pretend foxy brush to take home as a momento. :whistling::whistling:

Got bloodied over 40 years ago with a local hunt , just part of a dying tradition, Unfortunately If I did it to my grandkids today they're Granny and Mothers would kill me :icon_eek:

For some its a ritual of passage!! You've been involved in the hunt or chase and being bloodied means you've been at the conclusion ie:the kill

There's still a lot of these old hunting traditions being continued eg: in some parts of Germany and Eastern Europe at the conclusion of either stalking or hunting deer or wild boar, a handful of grass or herbage is placed in the dead animal's mouth! some say its the hunters way of giving the animal a last meal before its spirit moves on? this is done with some reverence and a great deal of respect

what does it mean then?
