zini 1,939
Hi there buddy, I received the rifle on Tuesday when I returned to work buddy, thanks for the quick postage pal. The rifle is a GL serial number so is a mark 6 model BSA Airsporter buddy, better than I was expecting so cheers and I’m really made up about it. I got her chronographed with Ely Wasps 5.6mm as I was told work best in Airsporters (14.4 grain) and it was only doing 7.1 FP due to the spring needing replacing and the pellet tap leaking slightly mate just to age and intense use I should imagine. The stock has now been taken off the action and is getting sanded down and re waxed to a natural and new look, so she will look lovely when I’ve finished her. The action itself has been taken to a good gunsmiths in Yorkshire today to have The spring replaced with a better spring to push the power up to between 11 and 11.5FP he reckons The pellet tap seal renewed or something done to it to make it like new, the piston head renewed with the newest material instead of what was on it which was a metal head which the gunsmith says are crap and don’t work very efficiently Some of the internals are getting skimmed as he put it (don’t know what he means) but he says it adds to power and smoothness when going through its firing action The rifle is also getting tuned and lubricated and the barrel is getting shortened by 2 inches with a ½ inch silencer thread putting on it. I collect her sometime this week at a mere cost of £60 I’m going to buy a SAK silencer for her to hush her up nicely ready for smashing some bunnies and corvids. I bought her new scope today on EBay and decided on a Tasco 3-9x40 mil dot with Illume and the mounts will be a 2 piece reach forward / backwards set due to her rails being only short. The address that came on the box was from a work address with no name on it, so can you please email me or PM me on here the address that you want the DVD to be posted to. Cheers again Si Edited January 27, 2010 by zini Quote Link to post
adamthomas64 1
hi mate glad you received it, i cant wait to see some new pics of her, and maybe even some video footage, will you be doing video footage with this gun do you think mate, can you please send the dvd to my work address please mate ill pm it to you now mate, atb adam Quote Link to post
zini 1,939
Hi pal, Yes i will be doing some video footage with the new rifle. I phoned the gunsmith up and he told me that the rifle was ready for pick up on Monday morning. He couldnt thread the barrel as he first thought but shortened the barrel for me and re crowned it so that i can fit a Webley Pro System silencer without making the rifle too long. He fitted a new spring which was 2 inches longer than the other one, tuned the spring and regreased it and re skimmed all the internals as he said inside was all tore up and the piston head was tore hence it only putting out 7 FP ish. He now tells me the gun is doing 11 FP but will improve to around 11.2 or 11.3 once the new piston and piston head has bedded in. Ill post some pictures of it onces its finished and the new scope comes. DVD will be on route Si Edited January 30, 2010 by zini Quote Link to post

Ive opted for a deeper colour and it looks really nice pal. I cant wait to get the action in her. Zini Edited January 30, 2010 by zini Quote Link to post

zini 1,939
Hiya Adam, Well this is her now back from the gunsmiths, Ive finished the stock and the bluing now and she is a powerful beast. The silencer i fitted today and she is a wolf in sheeps clothing now buddy, a real vermin destroyer. I did a test in some pine between my HW100KT and her and the results for penetration were the same. Just waiting on the tasco to come now from Hong kong. The mount is the new GunTuff reach forward / backwards mount as the scope rails are not very long. With this mount i will get the perfect eye releif Si Edited February 1, 2010 by zini Quote Link to post

Alexisrouzee 6
hey guys thanks for the comments, i do appreciate them as first the gunpower storm is a real mar-mite gun, you do kinda love them or hate them, and i just wanted to tone dow the tacticalness...... of it, a couple of my shooting guys like the new look and i love the feel, its ''fits'' me now, i got a new cam and i am hoping to rig it up to the scope this weekend....... zini...... watch out haha i think it will take quite a few more 1000 shots to get to that standard..... by the way the clip of you taking out a feral on the roof top with one mil side breeze and 2 mil hold over was a cracking shot :notworthy: had to show it to the lads Quote Link to post
