jigsaw 11,902
I have been shooting for nigh on 26 years and own a CZ .22 rimfire and a CZ .223.I was out yesterday with the .22 for a few rabbits and I shot this one rabbit and on inspection I was dumbfounded as to what I saw.I was walking up a dirt path ever so quietly and a rabbit, unaware I was approaching was sat facing me.I raised the gun and put the cross hairs on his forehead pulled and he fell over.I went to him and upon inspection I saw I had shot him straight into the mouth,Inside his mouth was the bullet, sat in the back of his throath. The amazing thing is it never went out through the back of his head, how is this?I was using eley subsonic rounds and from 20 feet away youd think theyd travel with enough force to enter and exit through the back.I dont have a clue about loads, power etc.I just load it up and aim and shoot and it has served me well for the last few years, just cant understand how it didnt exit. The round had mushroomed ok and I took It out of his gob.Im just baffled seeing this. The rest of the rabbits I shot had entry and exit wounds but not this one.Any opinions. rjimmer 4
I shot a fox once, head-on at about 50 yrds, with a .308. The bullet never exited and it was just like picking up a fertilizer back full of water. Quote Link to post
