johnboy19 38
Right, I have got a permission at a horse riding school my sister goes to with a field thats got a few burrows dotted about. About 3 sets of burrows are the the top of a small hill, which has a small burn at the bottom of it. I went for a quick walk around today since the snow had thawed out and wanted to see if i could find any more burrows, as i have only ferreted it in the snow. There are parts of the field that are a bit flooded, and the burn is overflowing due to the snow, but to my knowledge, it is not at a level where any burrows might be. So my question is, is it possible for burrows to get flooded due to the snow thawing out. I am hoping to go up tomorrow for a few hours but wanted to see what you guys would say so i can decide wether it is worth going. Cheers, John Quote Link to post

The one 8,579
A lot of burrows will be flooded just now im hoping the rabbits will be crammed into the drier ones .Even on the flat some burrows might be waterlogged as the water table will be rising at theres no where for it to drain to ,A good test of a ferret to push rabbits out a wet burrow as some wont go threw the water Quote Link to post

mushroom 14,009
Fezzers aren't in the habit of committing hari kari they'll not drown themselves. You may find them coming out cold, wet and muddy with a tail like a bog brush but that's about it. Had one of mine come up last year piss3d wet through and caked in sludge never did her any harm. Just make sure the grounds stable and not shifting. Don't want any collapsing burrows burying our little workers Quote Link to post
