hello all, a mate brought me some feral pigeons for the ferrets he had shot with his air rifle yesterday do i need to worry about the ferrets ingesting any pellets or will they be ok cheers.

pellets wont be a problem but feral pigeons carry alot of disease i would not feed them

dont worry too much on the pellets, Ive fed stuff shot by pellet/rimfire and shotgun, and most times have then found the pellet left in the food bowl or other areas,

as for feeding the ferals, Id only say, "from where" if country ferals then no worries, but ferals from city living do carry alot of nasty stuff, you can normally smell the difference, london ferals absolutly stink and really turn your stomach, I shoot hundreds each year through work, and have never fed one to a fert

ok cheers mate , yeah they were clean looking country ferals wouldn't dream of feeding them scruffy town things,i used to feed them culled racing pigeons so the farm ones are probley no different.

Dont worry about the pellets mate everything i shoot us or the ferrets eat and its never been a problem
