Tom Pickering 28 Posted January 3, 2010 Report Share Posted January 3, 2010 This was taken a couple of days back - there are a few sparrowhawks flying via the garden looking for an easy kill but had this one sat on the bird table. My Dad got a book out - It looks as though it is a male bird. The male appears to be brighter in colour and also smaller than the female. The canaries are getting wiser, they tend to fly straight into the shed rather than flapping against the mesh as they used to do. There have been a few incidents... Irish Lurcher 1,013 Posted January 4, 2010 Report Share Posted January 4, 2010 Nice picture pal, I managed to get this picture some time ago of two young kestrals, taken just as they left the nest, the parents nested in a nestig box that was nailed onto the side of a large and high wooden pole that was close to a golf course.
