pigeon shooting with a 20bore

hi all,

im going to have ago at pigeon shooting with my 20bore shot gun,do you put the decoys out the same distance as you do with a 12bore?or are they put a bit closer to the hide? any advice would be good.(does any body else use a 20bore for this?)

Hi mate, I started out shooting with a zoli 20g and I never had a problem hitting the birds.

My mate actually prefers the 20g to his 12g as It`s so light.

my son comes with me pigeon deoying regulary and i use me 12 bore browning and he uses a 20 bore investarm and he shoots as many if not more than me so i think same sought of distances as you would normally with the 12 bore , atb midge

keep the distance the same chap, a 20b has still got the same killing force as a 12b, it throws a tighter pattern then a 12b and 20b cartridges still have the same power as a 12b just a little less lead, i take my 20b out on occasions would take it more if the shells were not so dear. i take my 410 out aswell sometimes and keep the pattern the same distance. happy shooting

Youl defiantly have some fun with the 20bore matey, great fun , and less kick than the 12.

got a 20 bore few years ago and its done everything ive asked of a 12bore i love mine

 

cheap as chips just a mcnab lowlander 1/4 and 1/2 choke i paid 595 quid for it new bout 3 years ish ago

 

 

love it fleet as hell and comes up just soooo nice

 

 

pity damn shells are more expensive than the 12 tho

 

 

i know ill always have a 20 bore now
