30" or 32" barrels

Recommended Posts

Kiteman I think you have made a good choice, Beretta's are very good guns and a standard 682 sporting will fit most men quite well.

Craig a lighter(e.g. a 24" sbs) gun fireing the same weight of shot will kick alot more than a heavy gun(such as a 32" O/U).

Range will be much the same on a 24" and a 32" using nitro carts, black powered used to require longer barrels due to the rate the power burns at.

The reason a sawn off will spread more is partly because you have sawn off and choke that would have been at the end of the barrels.

im 6" with quite long arms,

the stock was about quarter - half inch longer,

so compared to the lanber that i tried i didnt feel so hunched up

and it felt better to swing.

im a novice to sg's so the dealer could probably tell me anything i woulnt know the diffrence.

i cant fault him tho. i tried a number of diffrent guns and this one deffinetly

felt the best.

price wise, he wants £750 with the extended chokes and a new sg slip.

Err, I don't want to worry you but "6" "as you say means you are 6 inches tall? Didn't you mean 6' ?

I only ask because I'd like to know. . .

ok, i admit my " " mistake.

though i can imagine it being quite interesting only being 6" tall :o

Well yes. If you were 6" tall the only way you could fire a gun with 30" barrels would be to get someone rather taller, Lemuel Gulliver perhaps, to load it and lay it on the ground. Then tie a lo-o-ong piece of string to the trigger, stand well back and pull like f**k. Not much cop on clays but you could get a really good bag of worms.

Good luck with the berretta, you should get many good years out of it. One of the Best things you could do (apart from being out on the range) Is get yourself a set of snap caps and practise dry mounting and your swing etc in the house. Ps if you are 6" would you be interested in a partnership in breaking and entering ;)
