hiluxmk3 1
Have been with dave1372 on a few occations with his Gen.2 nightvision scope, but on Tuesday night we got 2, 1 for him and 1 for me, was a great night seen a few and dave missed a couple (say no more)while the NV is a good tool for fox control, its not much fun unless you are doing the shooting, if there are 2 of you the person not shooting sees nowt, and if you do shoot one you better hope its not in grass higher than 6 inches or your chances of finding it are very slim, not like with the roof mounted lamp you see everything and by not moving the lamp after shooting fox its easy to find. So in a word i am still unsure as to whether the 2k - 2500k price tag for one of these is viable, think it would be a great asset to someone out on there own in a truck, using the roof lamp to spot them then out with light and on with night vision. Still takes a bit of practise to get it right when you 1st look through NV its very hard to focus but once you get into the swing of things its OKAY, would i buy one AFRAID NOT...would i have one and use it regulary 100% YES if i won the lottery or some kind person gave me one( i will take it Dave LOL ) Enjoyed a good night all the same, and i can now say i have shot a lamp shy FOX using NV,would soon have no Breeding stock for next year if i used one of these, if i miss using the lamp and it takes of i can ease my embaressement by saying its OK that will be next years breeding stock, as there is no way it will hang around when the next time someone puts a lamp on it. Any way here are the pictures, the 2nd being the one i shot while chewing on a dead ewe, have seen it a few times hanging around the same area feeding on the dead ewe, So to put it nicely FECK OFF you are not coming with me again if you bring that NV scope !!! ONLY KIDDING MATE you are welcome anytime as long as we go to yours LOL Quote Link to post
dave1372 83
and dave missed a couple (say no more) Who taught you to count.... I only missed one lol! It was a good night, and I find it very rewarding to help the older generation out and let you see the marvels of modern technology such as NV and light bulbs! . More than happy to sort out your lamp shy foxes anytime you want, and as Xmas is imminent I can feel an excuse to spend a little cash on a digital NV monocular so you won't be quite as bored. bullmastiff 615
You can get a gen 1 monocular for about £-£100 from Lidl or Aldi. should let you see enough to watch the shooting? Quote Link to post
