mussells 0 Posted September 13, 2006 Report Share Posted September 13, 2006 can anyone give me advise on my terrier,he,s keen ,if not too keen, to catch rabbits for me but goes at it like a bull in a china shop, he runs right past closer rabbits while giving chase to one miles away. this is my first terrier and he,s exellent on rats his nose for game is near damn perfect when he says its, in or down ,there it always has been!!!! i just cant steady him up enough to catch rabbits properly he,s fast enough but just goes mad??? any advise welcome. MR TEA POT 1,287 Posted September 13, 2006 Report Share Posted September 13, 2006 I have a lakie thats like that he is 12 yrs old,round the house he never moves just plods about,take him to a field with rabbits and he runs for miles.I also have a patterdale bitch,who gets her nose down on a scent and she's gone ihave tried calling her back but she cocks a deaf one and carries on going. This year, SHES A DIFFERENT DOG,(shes nearly three) she picks up the sitter nearly everytime and has changed completly from last season Give a dog time and it will give you back a whole lot more mate Quote Link to post Share on other sites
