heritage 202
hi all, i was just wondering if anyone could reccomend a range where its possible to hire a lane. i live in the west midlands so the closer the better, i know about minsterly (the bog) but was hoping to find another alternative venue. i dont have membership to any shooting bodies wich makes things difficult and restricts my options somewhat as i couldnt justify the cost of membership for one or two visits per year. I have 3 rifles that id like to zero in comfort and make a day of it, thanks in advance for the help, Quote Link to post
Fidgety 8
As far as I'm aware you have to be a member of an approved club in order to use any public ranges, which is an expensive pain if, as you say, you just need to zero a few rifles in comfort very occaisionally. Quote Link to post
heritage 202
i looked into a day at minsterly just for the craic, with lane hire, target purchase and fuel costs i was looking at £70, thats without the obligatory bacon sandwich, a little expensive for me, I know most zero in the field (myself included) but just fancied something diffrent. Geoff.C 0
Try GARLANDS 100 mt range. don't know about all day though. You could have the range all day, but you have to book, and it's 6 quid per hour. Just have a few dates handy for yourself, and call them on 01827 383300 to see what's available. It's a bit rough and ready, basically a huge water pipe buried in a embankment on the edge of an old Trap set up. It is about 110 yards, and the firing point is under cover. Take your own targets and staple to the pallet in the pipe. A mate and myself usually book for 2 hours, you can do a lot of shooting in that time. Rarely ever see anybody, as it's a quiet corner of the ground. You need to take your FAC, as you are not supposed to take a rifle which is limited to a particular range. After a couple of visits, they seem to know they have seen you before, and don't ask to check your FAC. Quote Link to post
