stealthy1 3,964
For me I would say its down to taking to many rabbits from the one warren, if you take more than the rabbits can breed repacements, then numbers will plummet Quote Link to post

simonrob 4
I don't see why you would put a ferret into a warren without the intention of catching the rabbits. If the Farmer/Landowner gives you permission to ferret on there land I am sure that they would want you to get rid of the rabbits not just scare them. In reply to the main question I think that it shows that you have done a good job and lowered the numbers on the land. Quote Link to post
rory 58
I would say personally that if you are there to do a job/favour for the land owner you would want to get as many as possible, this (from previous experience) gets your name known to the land owner for doing a good job, therefore leading onto more permission. However if the landowner isn't too bothered by the bunnies then i would agree on keeping numbers there for sport, its all dependant on what the land owner is after, regards, Rory Quote Link to post
max abell 198
As rory and simonrob says a lot of the land we ferret and shoot would go mental if we told them it was only for sport or the pot they would out us and get someone in who would control the rabbits and there is plenty of ferreters who will This is how we have obtained all the permissions we have by word and mouth is by doing a good job of drasticly reducing the rabbit numbers on there land but come the spring/summer the burries soon fill up again and we start all over again I can see what you are saying but i also hope you understand where im coming from that we would soon be outed off some of my biggest and best permissions and would not get recomended for anywhere else if we started letting rabbits go Quote Link to post
