new B&F collar

Recommended Posts

Was out today trying a few spots near me ,when the bitch I had with me marked a spot . Already had the collar on so I entered her, just over half an hour later fox bolted followed by the bitch . Nothing unusual until I noticed that the collar had come lose . This hasnt happened before until now . Has this happened to anyone else ? . :hmm:

Chilli, it's a usual thing, if you haven't got enough room on you're collar to fasten down with the last stop loop then it will happen often. This is a common fault with the collar old and new, Becky showed me last year and he says that on more than one occasion he has dug to just the collar.

Some velcro should do the trick.

Busterdog i would love too know what your thinking lol!

I don't do thinking, Chilli is a clever lad and it would work but the only problem with velcro is it would clog up with shit and would there for only be good for one dig if you were lucky and then you'de be back to square one. You could try just a stud but that would get full of shit to so who knows ?. I personaly have never had it happen to me but if some one's got any idea how to solve this problem then please post away. Maybe Stong stuff could come up with something.

I think the way around this is too glue & rivet some velcro to the collar .

Or get some smaller dogs :icon_eek:

This bitch is of the stamp you like but point taken Busterdog .

I'm not knocking you're dogs chilli, just the collar, it seems the credit crunch has reached the length of collar we are allowed these days.

It wouldn't suite to have all small dogs any more than all big dogs "horses for courses" , hope i didn't offend.

ATB.

Can you not send the collar back and tell them it is no good, please send a longer one.

After all this is being sold for finding terriers, bit shit if the collar dont stay on the dog because of a rectifiable problem that will cost B&f pennies to make the collar a couple of inches longer.

Plenty of length on the collar just dont know how it came out of the loop & the buckle was undone ? :icon_eek:

Maybe a band of an inner tube then, bit of extra security.

Was out today with a youngster for her first time, collared her up, couldve done with another hole in the collar!

Had a look at this again and I've been down the shed to look at the miss's horse "bridal or reigns" and at the end of them there is a stop loop the same as a collar, the only difference is there is a small hook type bar that pulls back on it's self and locks the hole thing in.

If you've got a horsey girlfriend then have a look it would definitely sort it out.

This never happened to me but happened to a mate. I had 1 major fault with the new collar, it let in water. Sent it back to B&F and they sent me a new one. The replacement one is ok, so far.

easiest way tae sort the problem...........

buy the ortovox transmitter, an Strong Stuff will make you the collar you want, no mass produced shite

tell him the lentgh an the width an even where you want the holes tae be put.....

imo bellman an flint had better drip there prices or seriously improve there faults

as it seems they got competition noo

thats strong talk maybe if ortovox made there collar purposely for digging... casing and appropriate collar id buy them?

i dont like nylon or velcro.

and prefer to pay that few quid more for a collar thats purpose made for digging and have that extra 20 to 30 metres range for my ££.the price difference pales.

ive never come across the collars coming off yet but hope it gets looked at.
