zak-s410 0
Thanks is there any light from the lamp when the ir fillter is on and does it make any difference to the distance you can see clearly with nv? zak. Quote Link to post
JohnGalway 1,043
There's a subtle deep red glow as far as I remember, haven't used mine in a good while now so a bit fuzzy with the exact details. I supposed the distance would depend on the NV you got, my ranger likes the IR lamp more than the laser. Quote Link to post
zak-s410 0
well i havent got any nv yet, im hoping the misses is willing to splash out for x-mas lol. What would be the best scope for £600 or would i need to spend more to get a good scope. thanks zak. Quote Link to post
activeviii 8
not the same lamp but i had the IR filter for the max tracer. did it make a differance to the distance i could see? my gosh didnt it just. i had a monocle type NV with the illuminator on the side. this was good to 40/50 yards or so. with the deben lamp and IR filter it was like the light had been turned on with out the filter. only got rid of the set up as i didnt like swing the rifle around just to see what was around. i just bought a lightforce 240 and red filter instead. if you do get one then watch the sun burn as with the IR filter on you can feel the heat. small red glow by the way. zak-s410 0
cheers phill i think that this would be a far better approach for all vermin which are a bit wise to the lamp. what iv been thinking is, if i get a set of nv goggles and scope i will be able to lamp in the dark with the ir filter. use the goggles for spotting and the scope for walking up to take the shot, in theory this should work lol thanks lads atb zak Quote Link to post

theinvisiblescarecrow 0
Have you seen the cost of the Lightforce I/R filter ? They work very well. With N/V you can still use the red filter. Quote Link to post
