Richie10 345
Had neighbour bang on about mine, he hardly barks! So I phoned the council and told him how he had complained about the neighbours kids playing football in their own garden at 4pm on Sunday, and that it was disturbing his sleep. I have also caught him watching my wife from his bedroom window, you just need to collect evidence on them and put it back at them. The council have to do a fair bit of monitoring before you have to do anything.

johnmac666 2
dont mean to hijack your thread ,for 2 years i have walked my dog on a field near me & every time we walk past there is a small dog which consistantly barks,if my dog is off the lead he will go to the fence ( which is 7 ft) & bark, i recieved a similar letter, now i am the one being told i am breach of my tennacy agreement because my dog is causing a nuisance, the guy has threatened me, followed me & even filmed me & my son, he has now installed a camera facing the field to film anything, this is a joke, have reported this to the police but nothing gets done , i am getting a visit from my hmo next week so hopefully it will get sorted out, my argument is Dogs bark ffs, if my dog contionously barked i would take him in or better still take it for a walk & socialize it more,i am frustrated as my dog is only barking because he can hear another dog but not see it & as soon as i walk away from him he will follow me & stop barking, regards john

RicW 67
just after some help , just got a letter today along with some other neighbours about about a noise complaint; barking dogs the letter reads i have recieved a complaint relating to a noise nuisance from a barking dog which the complaainant alleges is ket at your address. the complainant has informed me that the volume and length of time the dog is barking for is cuasing a serious nuisance to your near neighbours i have visited on both thursday 29th and fri 30th october and have witnessed some loud barking dog noise from your property when such complaints are found to be justified the council is required by law to take formal proceedings to remedy the matter should you consider this to be un founded for any reason pleaes call the night time noise team to discuss this matter my qeustions are what is an accepltable volume and length of time for a dog to bark and how far/near is classed as a near nieghbor my dogs are walked at least twice daily and dont get left unattended for long in my garden because of local dog thefts they do bark if some one passes or knocks on the door its not really loud or for very long which also goes for my nieghbours dogs where do i/we stand and whwt can be done cheers any help/advice will be helpful On a point of information. Local councils always try to make out that you cannot be told who has complained - about dogs barking, music late at night, ya-de-dah. WRONG! Under "habeus corpus" you are entitled to know with what you are charged AND who has accused you of the offence. Councils try to duck this because they don't want to get involved with people "sorting it out" for themselves. (Sorry Attack Fell Terrier!). If the issue ever comes from push to shove you can get a free 1/2 hour consultation with a solicitor under legal aid. You have an absolute legal right to know your accuser and to face him or her in court. We don't have many legal rights in Britain but this one is rock solid. If you have any sense you don't want it to get to that stage but if it does the law is on your side. My advice would be to consult a solicitor ASAP. It'll cost yer nowt and you will have your legal position laid on the line. Not to mention that if your neighbour finds you have taken legal advice then he she or it may bottle out anyway! WelshVixen 4
First if yor renting check your tenancy agreement on how many dogs your allowed to have, if you arent then dont worry (unless you have more than two bitches and a dog, in which case they could try to say your running a business). Im not sure about your area but i know in mine, they dont do anything about noise nuisance unless its after 11pm, the person complaining has to fill out a diary of times, and lengths of noise and other related things. They measure the decibel level from the complainants house and if its over a certain level they take action on it. I cant see one dog causing that amount of noise! Just find out which neighbour doesnt like dogs and you'll find your problem.... try walking them in the street (on leads so theres no excuse for furher complaint) and keep an eye on your neighbours faces.
