I have found something that works for me, with ferrets that bite, And it seems to work. I got a few kits this week and to make a long story short, they were very good biters, I got them settled in the cage and took them out one by one, And put a thick slice of lemon near there nose, they went for it, and quickly backed up when they bit down and got the taste...A few times doing that and there different ferrets - Im not saying it will work, But it did for me.

Again, as above.............it's all strange to her at the moment & she's likely very unsettled. I wouldn't try to lift her for the next couple of days if she's trying to bite? Rather, just clench your fist & offer her a knuckle? If she's really determined to take chunks out of you it might be an idea to keep a distraction such as ferretone (or olive oil & honey) handy to get her to unlatch. You'll likely still have a couple of painful episodes if she's being defensive, but you won't suffer too much before she learns you're not a threat to her, & settles down

If she's not being aggressive (hard to imagine if she's gum-deep in your finger, I know), but just defensive & unsure, the scent of the ferretone should distract her as it'll be far more attractive to her than your fingers (especially if they've been down the front of your trousers most of the day ;) )
