stealthy1 3,964
Just keep handling it, it should get bored nipping before you do, and chuck a fair ammount of scran at it Quote Link to post
Kay 3,709
Allow it time to settle & feed plenty of flesh Quote Link to post
Fat-Ferret 857
I have found something that works for me, with ferrets that bite, And it seems to work. I got a few kits this week and to make a long story short, they were very good biters, I got them settled in the cage and took them out one by one, And put a thick slice of lemon near there nose, they went for it, and quickly backed up when they bit down and got the taste...A few times doing that and there different ferrets - Im not saying it will work, But it did for me. droid 11
As above two posts. Little bugger's just trying it on. Quote Link to post
The one 8,595
Aye its all strange to it just now and it needs time to settle in just feed it then handle it and it should soon be fine Quote Link to post
Quixote 9
Again, as above.............it's all strange to her at the moment & she's likely very unsettled. I wouldn't try to lift her for the next couple of days if she's trying to bite? Rather, just clench your fist & offer her a knuckle? If she's really determined to take chunks out of you it might be an idea to keep a distraction such as ferretone (or olive oil & honey) handy to get her to unlatch. You'll likely still have a couple of painful episodes if she's being defensive, but you won't suffer too much before she learns you're not a threat to her, & settles down Quote Link to post

Quixote 9
thanks. but how will ferretone get her off If she's not being aggressive (hard to imagine if she's gum-deep in your finger, I know), but just defensive & unsure, the scent of the ferretone should distract her as it'll be far more attractive to her than your fingers (especially if they've been down the front of your trousers most of the day ) Quote Link to post
