loulove1 0
Hello all, I’ve been out a few times this year now on some huge sets that hold a large amount of rabbits , this is great but they also hold a lot of other pests in these well populated sets . My ferrets have got fleas, they are the big red type that breed fast and bite them to bits. I have put drops on the ferrets and powdered them up for a week, they have died down and ferrets are looking a bit better now but they are still not gone completely and I am sure if I don’t do something else they will be back with a vengeance. Any one got any methods for these little buggers that will get rid of them permanently, or at least as long as possible. Quote Link to post
Kay 3,709
i use frontline spray with no problems change bedding regular as well Quote Link to post
loulove1 0
HI Kay, do you just spray the ferrets or do you use it to spray the cage and bedding as well. Is the spray the one for cats as I bought a pack of drops that I think were frontline. This was made for smaller animals i.e ferrets, rabbits and guinea pigs etc. It has done some good but not worked as well as I had hoped. Quote Link to post
joe14 98
I dont think you can get frontline drops for small animals, the best stuff is the frontline spray from the vets. The frontline drops for cats etc are too strong for ferrets. Quote Link to post
loulove1 0
will give the spray a go, I did use drops for small animals but must have been another make. I got them from the vets so ill check what they were called when i go and get the frontline spray. They have worked but not to the effect that would keep the fleas away for good, and they were quite exspensive. Quote Link to post
joe14 98
If you have already used a flea treatment on them you will probably have to wait to retreat again with a different product or they might react with each other . Quote Link to post
stealthy1 3,964
Ask your vet for Frontline Spray, tell them its to be used on ferrets, then see if you can blag some rubber gloves for free Quote Link to post
stubby 175
wear latex gloves, spray the glove, then massage into the ferts coat Quote Link to post
