poor performance

Recommended Posts

I went out last night with my collie whippet, she seemed really keen as normal, but when i slipped her on first rabbit she was lagging well behind and it was like she could'nt be bothered, after 20 or so runs i gave up, she's never like this normally a demon, she's got no injuries as i can see, feed her and exersise her well, any ideas? Has anyone elses dog had a bad night like this? She had a phantom pregnancy in the summer could this have messed her up?

That makes me feel a bit better great white :) , she's five this december, she would'nt be slowing down yet would she?

hard to say without knowing the dog, and how much work its had, she might just start to slow down but if she fit and well cared for she shouldnt just stop,

i wouldnt worry if i was you just give her a break and then carry on as normal,

It's far more likely that the dog is injured, but probably a torn muscle, damaged tendon or a trapped nerve: get the dog to a greyhound back man to get her checked over. A dog injured like that will still run, it just won't really try as it is in pain.
